Dog Beach
Over the weekend, Caine went to the Montrose Dog Beach in Chicago. He was a bit skeptical of the waves and water initially, but soon found his way in. He played fetch and did the doggy paddle off the sand bar. He schmoozed with other fun pups and met huge Great Danes and tiny chihuahuas. He dug holes in the sand and raced labs into the water. He became more confident swimming as the days went on and eventually had no problems (as long as I walked beside him as he swam!).
He was also drinking from Lake Michigan. He would gulp water down. I know he had lots to drink because he couldn't wait to pee when we got out of the car.
If he ever lost sight of me while playing on the beach, I'd just call his name, and you could see him stop and listen until he realized which direction my voice was coming from. He's such a love.
He will be in Modern Dog Magazine's fall issue, to be released shortly.
He is still an inspiration to me!

Wow these videos and pictures are great. I was wondering how he was doing.I see he is enjoying the summer. I like to see how he is doing. sorry I haven't donate anything in a while. The soonest I can I will make one. I really enjoy reading how he is doing since the first day I read his story on people pet I just wished I saw him in person to give him a hug. God bless you all for the great heart you all have and just loving Caines so much. Brenda640
ReplyDeleteI have followed Caine's progress since the day he had his accident. I marvel at his progress and check every day to see any news about him. I used to get updates from Jackie, my mother's neighbor, who I learned works with you.
ReplyDeleteI wish more people cared about animals as much as you care about Caine. I have donated and will again when the budget allows. CAINE IS JUST GREAT AND SO ARE YOU!!!!!
Thank you for keeping up with Caine! He is doing well...we are off to get more wet food for him today actually. He loves the dog park and is more concerned with his squeaky ball and the water than the other dogs.
ReplyDeletePlease don't feel obligated to make a donation. Just keep spreading the word about paper shredders and dogs.
I do work with Jackie and her wonderful art!
